Arts of Resistance Workshop / Study Group

April 27, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

| Free

Arts of Resistance explores print media responses to the criminalization of domestic violence, especially the criminalization of survivors of domestic violence. We will use some of the recent Survived & Punished curriculum to explore issues related to social identity, power, white supremacy, patriarchy, and other systems of oppression and the prison industrial complex. We’ll also use and make zines and other creative resistance.

This is the fourth of 4 related workshops: our April meeting. We meet from 10 AM-1 PM at The Soapbox on fourth Saturdays.

This event is free and open to ages 16+. The Soapbox can be accessed by those using wheelchairs, walkers, and other supportive devices. It is a print shop in a basement, so while low-toxicity/non-toxic inks are used, those with allergies and chemical sensitivities should be aware there can be a damp/moldy smell and the possibility of other chemicals.
