MASU BOX & STORAGE BOOK WORKSHOP & OPEN HOURS

February 18, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

WORKSHOP

The Masu Box (translated as ‘measurement box’) is a simple origami structure, made of paper. This square box can be used to wrap gifts or store objects, but it can also be adapted with simple bookbinding techniques to make sculptural book objects. In this workshop we will begin with a box and a lid, and we will play with these paper elements to create books that can house images or small objects and be explored by hand. With Amanda D’Amico. $35, discount for members. Register in advance at www.phillysoapbox.org/register-for-workshops.

OPEN HOURS

Browse our library holdings and learn about upcoming workshops and volunteer opportunities. Also check our blog’s Featured Zine section to get a preview of some items in our collection, as selected by library volunteers. We welcome visitors during Open Hours to tour the space, ask us questions, and bring us your ideas. Come on over.
