Sat & Sun, November 16 – 17, 2019, 12pm – 5pm
The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19104
Philadelphia’s oldest and largest small press festival spans two days this fall. Devoted to the self-published and handmade mini-magazine, Philly Zine Fest brings together zine creators and readers from the local community and beyond. Over 70 writers and makers will share their publications for sale and trade.
Since 2002, Philly Zine Fest has created a space for a range of voices not represented in mainstream publishing. With a strong representation of voices local to the Greater Philadelphia area, many zine makers will be here from across the Mid-Atlantic. Free to attend, Philly Zine Fest is a prime opportunity to see new zine debuts, purchase affordable publications directly from their creators and collect individual and community stories that can’t be found in the bookstore. One-third of this year’s tables have been devoted to underrepresented voices and first-time zine makers.
The zine fair will be complemented by Saturday night programming at The Soapbox: Community Print Shop & Zine Library, 4700 Kingsessing Ave., entrance on 47th St., Philadelphia, PA, 19143. The 7 – 9 PM event will feature hands-on screenprinting and a zine reading.
*Free and open to all to attend. Accessible venue. Tables are full at this time.
