At The Soapbox, we’re touched by the outpouring of support for our first line responders and our Philadelphia communities. While many are suffering severe or total income loss, those with the means are supporting our community through donations, making PPE, donating blood, and distributing meals to neighbors.
On #GivingTuesdayNow, please donate to our community’s most urgent needs if you are able by supporting the following three organizations:
If you’re supporting the arts today, consider investing in The Soapbox’s sustainability.
Invest in us today to become a champion of creativity in our Philadelphia community. Bread yes, but roses, too? You get to decide what we see on the other side of this current health and economic crisis. Do you believe the arts should be part of this? If you believe in the power of the arts to inspire us, advocate for our needs, and buoy our spirits, consider supporting The Soapbox today.
The Soapbox is closed during current Stay-at-Home order, to support the safety of our community. Workshop and studio membership fees make up 43% of our revenue, but we cannot charge for these now. As a non-profit organization on a shoe-string budget, we are operating at a loss during this period. If you are not experiencing income loss and would like to invest in our sustainability, your donation is needed at this time to ensure that we are here when business opens up again. Your support is critical in supporting self-expression and the arts of print, book, paper, and zines.
Please do not hesitate to be in touch about how you are doing, how we can support you during this time, or your ideas for how we can support you and our community in the future when we’re able to gather together again.
Sincerely, with all the best wishes for your health and well-being,
