The Soapbox seeks a lover of spreadsheets & art to join our nonprofit board as Treasurer in 2021.
The Treasurer collaborates with board leadership to generate financial reports, oversee budgeting, process payments and otherwise support bookkeeping. We are a growing, volunteer-run organization with a $40k budget, and expect our budget to take us over the $50k mark in the next year or two.
The Treasurer will coordinate with the bookkeeper to review expenditures, pays bills and invoices, oversees annual tax filings, creates quarterly financial reports, follows up on outstanding invoices, and initiates the annual budgeting process as follows:
- Draft next year’s budget based on prior year financials
- Solicits budget input from board
- Collaborates with Executive Committee to synthesize final budget draft
- Brings budget to the board for approval in advance of the new fiscal year
