The Soapbox, like many of our peers, is closed as a non-essential business during Philadelphia’s current Stay-at-Home order, to support the safety of our community. We miss seeing you in the studio, and look forward to adding workshops, gatherings, and Open Hours back to our calendar when it becomes safe to do so.
As Philadelphia recently entered the Yellow, Safer-at-Home Phase of re-opening we are prioritizing restoring studio access for our existing members. We will be posting new online workshops soon. And we’ll then be looking at how we can welcome new members to the studio, and to how we can resume open hours when it is safe to do so.
During this time, we look forward to sharing resources – both for survival and for creative activities and inspiration – over social media and here on our website.
As a non-profit organization on a shoe-string budget, we are operating at a loss during this period. Workshop and studio membership fees make up 43% of our revenue. For those who are not experiencing income loss and would like to invest in our sustainability, your donation is very much appreciated at this time. We understand that not everyone is able at this time, and that there are many critical community needs at present.
Please do not hesitate to be in touch about how you are doing, how we can support you during this time, or your ideas for how we can support you and our community in the future when we’re able to gather together again.
Sincerely, with all the best wishes for your health and well-being,
