Monthly Mail Art Exchange: November
November 7, 12:00 am - November 30, 12:00 am
The Soapbox invites you to participate in a special PHILLY ZINE FEST edition of our Mail Art exchange. Philly Zine Fest takes place Saturday, November 7, 2020 online . Details can be found at phillyzinefest.tumblr.com. Each month we offer a different instructional video from one of our member artists, and ask you to create an edition of work that can be sent through the mail using any technique. Then sit back and relax while your mail carrier delivers an assortment of original artwork! This exchange is rooted in West Philadelphia, but we encourage artists from all over to take part. Your participation supports our community studio, and all artwork will be catalogued in our Zine Library and available to our community. This month, join artist Anna Mueser as she shows you how to make a simple pamphlet-stitched book that can be used to make zines, journals, and artists’ books. While we focus on celebrating zines this month (#PZF2020), artists are not restricted in their content or medium. Participants will be emailed a demo video, a list of addresses, and the size of the exchange on the 8th of the month. All artwork should be postmarked by the end of the month. Participants are responsible for their own postage.
