Many things happen during our open hours. Art gets made, zines are read and handled, type gets popped into place, and screens are forced to release ink. Some days are slow and some are fast. On the slow days there can be a lot of chatting about what’s going on in the art community or who needs a babysitter. On fast days you’re lucky to be able to stop and say hi to everyone who walks through the doors. Then there are the things that happen outside of our twice-a-month open hours. There are the Wednesday Member’s Only studio hours where members can work with a little less chaos. Soapboxers can also be found at the local zine fests passing out whatever zine we have at the moment and always hoping for more contributions to our zine library. The other thing that happens is the planning. We are always thinking about ways to improve. Like any good non-profit, we understand that we have to work hard for grants, fundraising events, and membership. We also understand that we put in this work for the benefit of our arts community. So, as a member of that community, we ask that you take a few minutes to fill out our Audience Survey. This is your opportunity to tell us what you’re thinking. Trust us, we’re listening. We’re trying to collect all of your responses by June, so time is running out.
And if you aren’t in Philly, but know of a friend who is, please copy the link below and send it to them, too. We have some big plans coming up for the Soapbox and we want everyone to be a part of it.
